Team Lead, Non-Emergency Call Taking (RFT)

Reporting to the Coaching & Development Supervisor, The Team Lead is responsible for providing dedicated coaching, feedback, support and day-to-day oversight to the Non-Emergency Call Takers. As a subject matter expert, you will use your leadership skills to empower the Non-Emergency Call Takers to achieve higher levels of performance and job mastery.

Key to this role is monitoring calls for service, ensuring compliance with established policies and participating in reviews of operational procedures. You will perform quality assurance reviews to ensure employee performance aligns with operational standards, while providing appropriate training.

This role would ideally suit someone who is looking to take their Emergency Communications career to the next level by developing and coaching our Non-Emergency Call Takers.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • High school diploma supplemented by courses related to the work plus three years recent experience as a CPIC Operator, Non-Emergency Call Taker or Communications Operator I; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience as a multi-jurisdictional call taker at E-Comm is desirable.

Required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained.

Vaccination Policy: E-Comm 911 has a vaccination policy that is currently suspended. However, should the policy be reinstated, it will be a requirement for all current and future employees.

JOB DETAILS

  • Number of positions: Minimum of 1 regular full-time 
  • Hours of work: 4 on, 4 off; shiftwork
  • Wage/Salary: PG 22 | $40.53 to $47.68 hourly; $81,141 to $95,455 annually (2025 rates)

  • Location: E-Comm Lower Mainland - 3301 E. Pender Street, Vancouver, BC
  • Eligibility List: An eligibility list may be created from the competition results of this posting, and used to fill Team Lead, Non-Emergency Call Taking vacancies (RFT or TFT) which may arise in the six [6] month period following this posting
  • Training: Training will not be offered for this position. You must be fully able to perform the roles and responsibilities
  • Recruitment process: a video interview may be used, followed by a panel interview for Candidates who successfully pass the video interview.
