As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a skilled and passionate Security Specialist to join our team and contribute to the security of our critical infrastructure, with a focus on Cloud security and EDR systems.

Reporting directly the Manager, Security, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our cloud-based systems and data against potential threats and vulnerabilities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain robust security measures, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud security best practices, a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks, and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

An accomplished problem solver, you will be eager to rise to the challenges of this ever-evolving technology sector.  Experienced in AWS and/or Azure, you will bring your knowledge of information technology technical risk assurance theories, methods and practices, threat assessment programs and practices, and standard security controls.  

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Ensure that security tools and technologies are deployed in the current environment in line with architectural requirements
  • Manage system vulnerabilities by conducting network scans, and coordinating the patch management process with infrastructure teams
  • Lead audits of the security infrastructure, such as firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and intrusion detection systems, continually managing and monitoring all security elements including networks, servers, and workstations and ensure alignment with established security policies and standards
  • Work with Security Engineers and other internal teams to identify and address vulnerabilities in E-Comm’s infrastructure, systems, and applications
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams on security-related matters throughout the development lifecycle
  • Prepare investigation reports and forensic documentation confirming breaches, as well as identify system vulnerabilities/inherent risks and recommend preventive measures
  • Demonstrate strong conceptual thinking and analytical problem–solving skills
  • Anticipate, investigate, research and analyze challenging and unique problems, and to resolve or escalate issues in a timely fashion
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

What you will bring:

  • Degree in computer science or engineering, combined with industry training plus considerable related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Certifications in relevant technologies, methods, or platforms, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are preferred
  • Knowledge of information security principles, IT risks, compliance and security frameworks (NIST, COBIT, ISO 27001/2, etc.)
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in information security
  • Technical expertise in SIEM systems, DLP, threat monitoring, and management tools (such as Splunk, Elasticsearch, RSA, etc.)
  • Knowledge of operational security tactics and techniques (exploits and evasion, persistence techniques, lateral movement, social engineering, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data encryption, VPN'S, vulnerability scanners and anti-malware products
  • Knowledge in one or more cloud specialties below would be considered an asset:
    • Cloud networking, Cloud IAM, SSO and Federated Identity, Microsoft Defender for Cloud,  Endpoint Security, SIEM and SOAR platforms and solutions such as Microsoft Sentinel
  • Proven ability to prioritize and operate in an environment with times of high pressure with an ability to provide fast paced response
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical information effectively across various organizational level
  • Strong inter-personal skills, with a proven track record of building relationships and fostering teamwork

Security Requirements: 
As a condition of employment at E-Comm, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained. This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by E-Comm. The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position, as established by our law enforcement partner agencies, is seven [7] years.

To qualify for this process, a candidate may either be a Canadian Permanent Resident [PR] or Canadian Citizens.   We regret any candidates under Student, Visitor, or Work Visas are not eligible for consideration.

Vaccination Policy: E-Comm 911 has a vaccination policy that is currently suspended. However, should the policy be reinstated, it will be a requirement for all current and future employees.
