Business Project Analyst I

We are seeking a talented Business Project Analyst I to join our NG911 team. Our ideal candidate has a background in technology and thrives when challenges arise, proactively identifying opportunities for quality and efficiency improvements, and driving excellence in our projects.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough analyses of business requirements and translating them into technical specifications, using a structured business analysis approach for each initiative. In collaboration with our Senior IT Business Analysts, you will work closely with key stakeholders to identify business needs and gather detailed requirements, participate in the development of project plans, estimate resource requirements for client approval, prepare a variety of documentation and providing on-going support for services, programs and enterprise applications.  You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our IT solutions meet the needs of our stakeholders and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

We are looking for someone with an analytical mindset who can determine business and technical requirements, define solutions, identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Reporting to a Senior Project Manager, your key duties will include:

  • liaising with internal and external agencies, vendors and departments to gather, review and assess feasibility of business requirements and change requests
  • assisting in the development of project plans and budgets, estimating resources for client approval and managing activities to ensure completion against project objectives and timeline
  • providing on-going support for systems, programs and PRIME-BC enterprise applications for the analysis of potential improvements, problems and requirements for existing and proposed systems and/or business processes
  • preparing and maintaining operating instructions, procedures, processes, and project documentation for users and technical staff 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Completion of a university degree or diploma in computer science, engineering or business with a technology focus, plus sound related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Certificate in business analysis from the IIBA or PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) will be considered a definite asset
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in an Business Analyst or similar role
  • Certification in ITIL or similar service delivery framework is preferred
  • Required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

As a condition of employment at E-Comm, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained. This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by E-Comm.  The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position, as established by our law enforcement partner agencies, is 5 years.

To qualify for this process, a candidate may be either a Canadian Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen. We regret any candidates under Student, Visitor, or Work Visas are not eligible for consideration.

Vaccination Policy: E-Comm 911 has a vaccination policy that is currently suspended. However, should the policy be reinstated, it will be a requirement for all current and future employees.
