We are looking for an Enterprise Systems Technologist 1 (System Administrator) to join our growing Technology Services Team. As an Enterprise Systems Technologist, you thrive on making a difference and who embrace challenges, variety, diversity and our corporate values of respect, integrity, collaboration, accountability and service. Reporting to a Supervisor, Infrastructure Services; the Enterprise Systems Technologist 1 provides support to a variety of technology systems as well as critical business and public safety applications for E-Comm, its partners and clients.
The successful candidate will also be accountable for monitoring base system performance and investigating performance issues, installing system components, performing moves and software and hardware upgrades, responding to service requests, and working with the service desk and other technicians to troubleshoot and resolve service issues that impact availability. Expertise in SCCM will be especially advantageous in this position.
Key responsibilities in this role include:

- Installing, maintaining and supporting the operation of servers, workstations and peripheral devices in accordance with base performance and availability criteria; assisting in enhancing service performance of critical CAD, RMS and communications systems and participating in maintaining systems security
- Monitoring and responding to alerts triggered by various technology systems; monitoring and participating in management of network storage capacity and server virtualization and ensuring the successful completion of backup processes
- Troubleshoots incidents and service performance issues; escalates to senior resources as appropriate and participates in resolving a broad variety of technical problems
- Administering user and group account access and rights in accordance with established policies
- Developing and maintaining system/shell scripts to automate routine tasks
- Installing and configuring workstations and physical and virtual server environments
- Planning and coordinating small projects, such as printer replacements, workstation software and hardware upgrades, evacuation site preparation, new server builds and upgrades, and data migrations
- Developing and executing checklists and test plans, documenting processes and procedures and providing user training as required
- Recommending new hardware and software related to the work and upon approval makes small scale procurements
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

- Completion of a degree or diploma program in computer science or a related discipline plus sound related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- ITIL Foundation v3 or later accreditation preferred.
- Experience with Windows operating systems in an Active Directory (AD) environment.
- Knowledge of other Operating systems [e.g. Rocky Linux, Redhat, etc] will be beneficial.
- Knowledge of best practices in technology service management (ITSM; ITIL), IT security, and data centers
- Experience with end-point deployments like desktop computers, laptops, cellphones, tablets, etc.
- Knowledge of centralized storage management and protocols (FC, NFS, CIFS, ISCSI)
- Microsoft PowerShell and other scripting languages with emphasis in automation.
- Experience with ticketing systems and cloud applications [e.g. Service Now, Microsoft Intune, Jira, MDM.
- Experience with Citrix and Virtualization would be highly beneficial.
SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:
As a condition of employment at E-Comm, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained. This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by E-Comm. The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position, as established by our law enforcement partner agencies, is 3-5 years.
To qualify for this process, a candidate may be either a Canadian Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen. We regret any candidates under Student, Visitor, or Work Visas are not eligible for consideration.
